Monday slots lost to no-shows

Dr. Elin Berg, GP

Fewer empty slots on Monday mornings. The reminder does the work.

The decision

We asked who the visit is for first, so parents booking for a child skip six questions.

What it cost

Clinics get less detail before the visit; nurses now ask two questions at check-in.

The problem

Vardnet's 40 clinics lost a quarter of their Monday slots to no-shows, and booking took nine taps and a symptoms form most people skipped.

How booking works now

The first question is who the visit is for. Parents booking for a child, half of all bookings, skip six questions. A reminder the day before lets people move a visit in one tap.

Three Vardnet booking screens: who the visit is for, date and time, confirmation

The result

Booking takes three taps. No-shows fell 30% in the first quarter, and the clinics refilled most of the moved slots the same day.
